I use a 2013 Macbook as my daily driver. She has given me more than a decade of faithful service. My other machine of choice is a 2011 iMac, which has also served me VERY well.
Operating System

I don’t use Microsoft Windows nor Apple’s Mac OS, as I DO NOT want to be spied on. In addition, I don’t believe in Apple’s OR Microsoft’s philosophies, regarding slave labor and poor working conditions. I realize that I cannot prevent them from doing these things but I guess I can “stick it to the man” by not using their software. I use Debian Linux as my operating system of choice. It fully supports all of my devices with the exception of my webcams 🙁
Software Choices
I heavily dig open source software. I don’t use Microsoft Office, instead I use Libre Office and Thunderbird. I don’t use Google Chrome, as I DO NOT want to be spied on. Instead I use Firefox with a plethora of extensions(uBlock origin and NoScript) and Chromium(The main source behind Google Chrome and Safari) with the same extensions.
My Desktop Environment on Linux
My main desktop environment is KDE Plasma on my laptop and LXQT on my desktop.
Video Editing
For editing *most* videos, I use Kdenlive, A Free and Open Source Video Editor.
On Android, I use CapCut, A free-ish video editor.

For additional editing and live-streaming, I use OBS Studio.
If I am “on-the-go” I carry my backpack with my Bawaut Portable Power Station, 540Wh
Cameras
My main camera is a 2020 Galaxy Note 20 5G that I paid wayyy too much for.

I also have several “El-Cheapo” Android phones that I use for closer shots during video recording/live streaming.
For audio recording and capturing I use several JYX k39 Wireless Microphones.
Connection
For connecting to the outside world other than my home internet, I use an AT&T RADIANT Max 5G which is my “hot-spot” and connects all of my devices together. It is also my phone. My carrier of choice is US Mobile and they’ve served me VERY WELL.
Conclusion
I am a HUGE believer in Open Source Software, recycling technology and utilizing old/used devices. We don’t always need “brand-new” or the “latest and greatest” of tech. I get by with everything mentioned above day-by-day.
